You can do anything!

It took me a while to understand that I have potential to all things. As a child we often dream of being a fireman or a policeman or a superhero, I had my dreams of becoming a West Virginia State Trooper. I invested a lot of my time into learning as much as I could about how one day I would reach this goal. Even my dad helped me to prepare. Almost every time we were in a vehicle Dad would lock down the brakes and give me a scenario like "What are you going to do when someone passes you doing 100mph?!" And each time and every scenario he had a lesson for me. I believe he was more excited about my future than I was. He told me how the power influence and woman would come easily as well as business opportunities. I give credit to him watching JR Ewing on Dallas every Friday night for some of his "Business ethics", however, now that I am older it seems he is more right each day. I even had the pants the shirt the hat and shoes to look the part. In my senior class we was to give a presentation about what we wanted to become when we grew up. At 12 I went to the JR Trooper Academy, a program in West Virginia the Troopers put one every summer, just to put it into perspective there was years and years desiring to be a Trooper. I finally made it to 21 years old, old enough to test. I missed it 3 time by less than 40 seconds. NOW WHAT?
Plan B. I had been towing all my life I assumed Ill just go back to towing. It was the obvious answer, I couldn't seem to get the run down. Now nearly 15 years later I KNOW I couldn't do the run and my desires have changed. As a child we have dreams and the seem achievable and maybe they are, but I took plan B. And I would have stayed there to until one of the best tragedies to my family happened. Now there are somethings that I don't mind sharing with you and some things are not mine to share, in this situation lets just say my eyes was opened. I did not want to continue to be the man I was raised to be. I had the opportunity to run the family business after a short departure my dad was required to take. This left me to make all my own decisions and the companies. I saw thousands of dollars lost because they were never billed and I saw relationships lost and neglected. It was my chance to prove who I was and what I could do. But all I knew was what my Dad had shown me. I had just assumed he was right since I had no other options or examples, plus I was my father's son and in my family, you do what your father says... or else. Who would I look to now? 2019 I was 29 years old when I took my first WreckMaster class and I was sold on it. I wanted to take every class and seminar I could. Billing classes, Repo Classes, Marketing Classes. The peak of my life would have been owning the family business but after these classes I felt like I could turn the family business into the best towing business in the world. Here I was equipped with the knowledge to be more I ever was and more than any of my competitors have will be. And I was right!
As much as I would like to give all the credit to the classes for making me who I am today I can't. The classes definitely had their value but the real value was the doors it opened up. NETWORKING. I was introduced to the leaders in our industry of towing. I now have number upon number of big wigs in the towing industry that I can call anytime of the day or night and ask a question because we are on a first name basis and know each other well.
LET ME HAVE YOUR ATTENTION
Everything that I have said thus far is to get this point across. NETWORKING is EVERYTHING. The people you surround yourself with influence you and the way you operate. I was able to relate to Justin Cruse owner of WreckMaster as he took on the family business and turned it into a multi-million-dollar business. Scott Aye an owner and use to be operator who kicks back by the beach while his company is being ran successfully. Mr. In the Ditch, Chuck Ceccarelli, went all over the country broke, trying to sell as many Side Pullers as possible to build his company. Jamie Davis, main character of the hit tv series, Highway Thru Hell. All these people came from nothing and became huge idols in the towing industry which inspired me to believe I could be more than my father's son, owner of the family business. We need to surround ourselves with people who can help us reach new levels of self-esteems and our potential. You could be the next greatest thing that ever happened to the towing industry, and I want to help you see that and embrace it. Then ACHEIVE it.
