Mission Statement from Tyler

I honestly just want to openly confess my intents with Towtal Advantage. I have been towing all my life, I literally have been towing vehicles on the main road without a license. 13 years old doing grown man things! Now 20 years later I'm helping other new operators find their way. Hooking to the wrecked casualties, up righting them to their wheels has always been a passion of mine and now we see less and less of it in our everyday operations. Now we mostly see transports from point A to point B, over and over. It makes me want to vomit....BUT!!! it is something that must be done. And if transports don't make you sick then knowing that roadside assistance motor clubs are becoming more and more involved as the middleman between us and our customers. TOWTAL GAG!!! Who wants to deal with someone speaking a different language hollering over the background noise of dogs barking and I know for a fact I have heard a rooster too. How professional. Anyways, I know I've learned a thing or two I can pass down to upcoming tow ops. I mean I am a 3rd generation operator who was brought up in the ditch, rural West Virginia, cutting my teeth on a 1981 Paystar 5000 single-axle with a 750 Holmes wrecker. (If you don't know what that is may the powers of Google be with you) I had limited equipment limited knowledge and limited opportunites. We never had a call volume with semi-trucks wrecking every week to have a need for a 75 ton rotator, so what can I teach you? I may not have had the best of the best to recovery the opportunities that was presented to me, however I did successfully handle the calls. I believe some people forget that there was a time rotators and rollbacks didn't exist. Blah Blah Blah Fastforward to 2019. I had finally taken over the family business, it still echoes in my mind Dad telling me "Its lonely at the top, Ty." I wanted to do my best and conquer my new venture. I went to tow shows and took every free seminar (and some that cost money) to learn as much as I could. I was finally investing and getting an education in myself. Who would have thought someone could get an education in towing. I always thought going to college meant I had to be a doctor or a lawyer. I enjoyed what I was learning, I had to have more! WreckMaster was the next stop on my list of things to accomplish. I wanted to have something saying, "I am the best at what I do" WreckMaster number 190322. Meaning I was the 322nd person to become a certified towing operator in 2019, a master in the category of towing, the Superman in semi crashes. Boy, was I WRONG. I come out of the 2/3 class with an ego the size of Mt. Rushmore ready to take on the world. I did calm down some once I found out there was still 4 more classes that WreckMaster offered. I completed the last one last year (2022) I am now a WreckMaster 8/9R and the number issued to me means nothing anymore since they stopped issuing them and now TowCert certifies the operators. Thats a personal issue I have with them, but you aren't reading this to hear my personal vendettas, your hear to LEARN. I'm happy to teach, I even spent sometime running around to become an instructor for WreckMaster with Scott Aey, OK OK OK!!! Enough about WreckMaster. Towtal Advantage 2022. My greatest achievement, (next to giving my life to Jesus Christ.) It started out as us helping a friend with his billing and since he was a small company with one truck ran by himself, we felt we could help him while doing our own billing for my two towing companies. He had some very obvious questions that I had the answers for. How to bill for this add on and how to get setup with this motor club. After a month of helping him, he was turning over $5000 a week just in motor club work. To say the least he was over the top ecstatic and to be honest I was a little set amazed myself. He even told his friend about how well he was doing and we started helping him. He was only providing roadside assistance (jumpstarts tire changes lockouts and fuel delivery) This was a business that was already set up and currently making money, about 700 a week to estimate it. We helped him and in just a month his 700 a week turned into 1500 a week then 3000 a week and after 6 months he was ready for his first tow truck. HORRAY!!! may be what your thinking, WRONG!!! We learn from our mistakes as humans and I AM NO DIFFERENT. What could be wrong you may ask? Well yes his soft service was doing amazing at $3000 a week but we completely messed up when we added towing to his accounts. What was a wonderful account that focused soley on specific services that could be done in a $1500 beater vehicle, became alot of miles and alot of fuel and even more expensive wear and tear on a $110,000 tow truck. Not to mention towing paid more and it took priority over soft services. We had made a huge error. We developed soft service roadside assistance and we had no idea that we needed to develop a towing account with our current companies. It took months to fix this issue and who knows how much money was lost! Why am I telling you this? I want you to be my customer and allow me to help you. I have found that being upfront and honest will gain peoples trust and if you can trust me and I can be honest then we can build a great relationship. I broke alot of things in my life by taking things to their ultimate load limit, and in doing so I found they all have working load limits. And that knowledge is what I want to share with you and all my clients.
